Red tape strangling new medical school

THE ISLAND’S first private medical school is ready and raring to go, but the government approval needed to get it out of the starting blocks is being held up by red tape.

Intercollege has spent some £3.5 million on a state-of-the-art Nicosia home for a medical school, completed last October, and has also lined up the experts to staff it.

CY stewardesses panting for new look uniforms

FOR THE first time ever Cyprus Airways stewardesses will be wearing the pants as part of the airline’s new millennium look for its staff.

The new uniform for pilots, cabin crew and ground staff will be unveiled to the public this week in Nicosia after a private showing to employees at Larnaca Airport on Tuesday.

Censored: sexy French art film is banned

ADVENTUROUS cinema-goers will, it seems, have to change their plans this weekend: sexy French art-film Romance, due to start showing at the Acropole Cinema in Nicosia as from yesterday, has been rejected for a certificate by the Ratings Board – in other words, has been banned from cinemas.
