l The Islamic Republic of Iran is a Muslim Country and homosexual behaviour is completely out of the mind of Iranian society.

Airport chaos as CY computer systems crash

SIX Cyprus Airways (CY) flights were delayed yesterday for around one hour after the airline’s central computer crashed, leaving hundreds of passengers unable to check in.

Among them was UN special Cyprus envoy Alexander Downer who was due to fly to Athens and arrived at Larnaca airport in the middle of the chaos.

Family seek urgent assistance

THE DEMETRIOU family of Pentalia village in Paphos is requesting urgent help from the government of Cyprus.

Pentalia village is all but abandoned, due to severe landslips and subsidence, and villagers are being moved to another area close by.

There are only a few people left in what has become a ghost village, and the Demetriou family are appealing to be moved.

Makarios statue to be moved in August

THE ENORMOUS statue of Archbishop Makarios currently standing at the grounds of the Archbishopric in Nicosia will be moved in August, the island’s top cleric said yesterday.

Work to replace the 10-metre statue that has stood in the heart of the capital for the past 15 years has already started.

Probe ordered into medicine fraud from Turkey

THE PHARMACEUTICAL Services and the police have launched an investigation into suspected fraudulent importation of medicines believed to have come from Turkey.

A spokesman at the Pharmaceutical Services confirmed reports that a large importer, who has not yet been named, had allegedly falsified documents of approval from the Health Ministry allowing the drugs into Cyprus.
