New eco bus design goes on display

THE NICOSIA Municipality yesterday called on the public to give their opinions on the various designs to go on display for the new eco-friendly city bus for the capital.

The eco bus is supported by Nicosia Municipality, CYTA and the Demades Design Ltd which is responsible for its design.

Seven Indians remanded over opium poppy haul

SIX INDIAN men and a woman were yesterday remanded in custody for eight days after police found over 30 opium poppy plants growing in their garden.

The seven were arrested on Thursday after Morphou district Drug Law Enforcement Unit (DLEU) officers in co-operation with Morphou district police raided their residence in Katidata village.

Three-line letter halts PrimeTel’s landing station progress

THE YEROSKIPOU municipality has finally refused a building permit for telecom provider PrimeTel’s submarine cable landing station after a six-month wait.
