Outbound tourism down but no reduction in prices

THE COMMUNICATIONS Ministry yesterday confirmed that outbound flights from Larnaca Airport in May are down by 3.8 per cent compared to the same month last year, while passenger numbers for the same month are down by 8.9 per cent.

Travel agents also confirmed that Cypriots are travelling less this year – at least by plane.

Mystery still surrounds body found in Limassol

THE BODY of a man, estimated to be in his 50s, discovered in an open field in Limassol on Monday remains unidentified, while due to its decomposed state the autopsy has not determined the exact cause of death, police said yesterday.

The body was found in an open field at Christou Samara street in Limassol on Monday by a local woman.

Minister optimistic over renewable energy targets

THE GOVERNMENT supports all efforts to promote renewable energy sources with great generosity and remains optimistic over the state’s ability to attract investors for the Commerce and Trade Ministry’s “big plan”.

This was the message from Commerce Minister Antonis Paschalides at a media conference to present the state’s renewable energy plan to potential investors.
