LARNACA municipality was yesterday still at a loss concerning the origin of a fuel leak detected during construction work in the Drosia area.
The authorities suspect the leak, which was spotted during work on Larnaca’s sewerage system last Thursday, came from a neighbouring petrol station.
“We started our own investigation in co-operation with inspectors from the labour office,” Larnaca Mayor Andreas Louroudjiadis told the Cyprus Mail yesterday. “The petrol station’s owner is also expected to conduct his own investigation.”
There are two petrol stations close to where the leak was found.
The other station’s owner acted immediately after being notified about the leak, Louroudjiadis said on Tuesday, and the results showing no faults were out within 48 hours.Read More
